Rosalind Knight (born 3rd December 1933) appeared in Coronation Street in June 1981 as Mrs Ramsden, an adoption society officer. She is the daughter of the late actor Esmond Knight and has enjoyed a career of over fifty years. Born into a theatrical family, she experienced theatre at an early age, later studying at the Old Vic and working in repertory and touring theatre companies. She made her film debut in Richard III (1955) which also starred her father and gained her first substantive role two years later in Blue Murder at St. Trinian’s. Later film comic roles followed in two of the early Carry on… films.

Her television roles include The Wednesday Play, Dixon of Dock Green, Within These Walls, Crown Court, Mapp & Lucia, The Return of the Antelope, Only Fools and Horses, Harry Enfield and Chums, the Jonathan Harvey-scripted Gimme Gimme Gimme, Casualty, Doctors, Midsomer Murders and Hunderby. Her appearance in Coronation Street came when she and her husband, Michael Elliott, were living in Manchester when he was one of the founding artistic directors of the Royal Exchange Theatre in the city.
