- Der Adorn (Herkunft des Names unbekannt, wahrscheinlich Prä-Númenorisch) war ein etwa 150 Meilen langer Grenzfluss von Rohan. Von seiner Quelle in den Ered Nimrais floss er in Richtung Westen und mündete in den Isen. In der Nähe seiner Quelle lag die Feste Frecas. Er hatte sie dort erbauen lassen, weil ihm einige Gebiete auf beiden Uferseiten des Adorn gehörten. Freca wurde seinerzeit von Helm Hammerhand erschlagen und seine Gebiete wurden von den Dunländern besetzt. König Folcwine konnte die Gebiete zwar wieder zurückerobern, auf die Bewohner aber konnte er sich nicht unbedingt verlassen. Sie galten als wankelmütig was die Loyalität und Treue zu ihrem König anbetraf. Und wirklich, im Ringkrieg unterstützten viele von ihnen Sarumans Streitkräfte.
