  • COMPUTEX Taipei (Taipei International Information Technology Show), organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taipei Computer Association (TCA), is the second largest ICT industry trade show in the world ahead of COMDEX and behind of CeBIT. It's formerly well known as Taipei Computer Show before entitling its name as COMPUTEX officially in 1984 by Stan Shih, founder of Acer Incorporated. After the opening of Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC), the COMPUTEX moved from TAITRA Exhibition Center at Taipei Songshan Airport to the current TWTC in 1986 until the presence. With expansions of its scale and launches of new exhibition halls, it became the 2nd largest global ICT show in 2003 after enrolling TWTC Hall 3 as one of its show venues since it had been the 1st one in Asia. In 2008, the COMPUTEX stood steadily in the global ICT procurement center as it expanded into TWTC Nangang, launched on March 13, 2008 (the Opening Day of Taipei Cycle).
