| Biography
| - Tom Patston, better known in most circles as "Tommy2skis" from his professional ski racing days, competed mostly in road racing venues. A multi time SCCA Formula Atlantic Champion, Patston also drove a number of NASCAR road racing events in the 1980's. Patston also was a regular in the Robert Bosch Super Vee Series and landed a ride for the CART / PPG Indy Car Series in the mid 1980's as well.
Patston also enjoyed a number of top five finishes in IMSA GTU / GTO competition, including a win in class at Daytona. With 23 career victorys under his belt, his driving career was cut short by a near fatal testing accident in 1986. Patston went on to become a car owner during the 1990's and has now retired from racing completely. Presently, he is the Chief Legal Officer for a west coast based financial services firm.
Tom Patston also served as "Chief Racing Instructor" for SCCA's Midwest Division during the 1980's and served as a test and developmental driver for both the Van Dieman and Cosworth factories. During his racing career, Patston had starts at major International and National venues such as the Daytona 24 Hrs., Daytona 6 Hrs., Sebring, Long Beach Grand Prix, Detroit Grand Prix, Cleveland Grand Prix, Copper Classic, June Sprints and attempted to qualify for the Indy 500 twice.
He and his wife Carole now reside in the Lake Tahoe California area and remain active in the sport of ski racing. Patston's name was added to the USSA / US Ski Team Legacy Wall in 2004, located within the US Ski Team's Olympic Training Center in Park City Utah.
