Ilnrard Onasi was an Imperial officer and brother of Rebel officer Maardok Onasi. Orphaned at a young age, the young Onasi was raised by an Imperial family residing in the city of Bestine on Tatooine. After joining the Alliance, Maardok fought his brother in combat during a skirmish in Bestine in the year 1 ABY. When he learned of Ilnrard's identity, he was both elated and crushed. Because his brother had been adopted by an Imperial family, he followed suit by joining their ranks. Ilnrard was also Force Sensitive, which was recognized quickly by the Emperor. After a short time in the regular Army, he became one of the Emperor's Hands. Maardok's brother was a Dark Jedi. During his campaigns in the Outer Rim, Ilnrard faced his brother several times, once on the Mid Rim world of Naboo without even knowing it. Despite this, they would awkwardly meet in cantinas and discuss their lives and politics. Fights would almost regularly follow, though neither would draw a weapon. After the end of the Galactic Civil War, the two managed to reconcile their differences and finally took the time to bond. Unfortunately, war returned to the galaxy in the form of the extragalactic Yuuzhan Vong and both Maardok and Ilnrard were pressed back into the service of their respective governments. Ilnrard used his connections to aid Maardok with supplies following the Fall of Coruscant and was one of the few Imperial proponents of breaking neutrality.
