Radus-piyama was a priest of Tarhund, the Kussaran sky-god. When the Earth scientists of the William Howells arrived in Kussara, Radus-piyama recognized them as foreigners. He disliked their physical differences, and was particularly appalled by the fact that the "Terrajin" could not hear the gods. Radus-piyama consulted with Tarhund, who shared Radus-piyma's disdain. Radus-piyama attempted to sway king-steward Pitkhanas to oust them. When Pitkhanas, who saw nothing wrong with "Terrajin", privately spoke to Tarhund, the god dismissed Radus-piyama's fears, and Pitkhanas followed suit.
