About: Tenticulon   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : dbkwik.org associated with source dataset(s)

The tenticulon was a rarely seen, amorphous creature indigenous to Rhinnal, though most natives considered the creature a myth. Growing to enormous size in the frigid polar waters, the tenticulon was capable of grappling with aquatic speeders if threatened. Its body was a shapeless blob from which emanated dozens of thin, ribbon-like tentacles. Each tentacle was specialized. Some were used to grasp and constrict, others to sting and poison, and still others ended in a bioluminescent blinking light to lure passing fish. Tenticulons easily re-grew their lost appendages. Because of its size and the strength of its grasping tentacles, it was capable of grabbing and swallowing a humanoid whole, but it typically preyed on fish and Rhinnalian fireheads.
