  • Kyōshin Kaiyū Sensakechō (経真戦裂け朝介勇 Kyoushin Sensakechou Kaiyuu "Lit"; Scriptures of Reality within a War-Torn Dynasty brought a Mediating Hero) is the current captain of the 1st Division within the Gotei 13 and the successor to Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto as Captain-Commander (総隊長, Sōtaichō; Viz "Captain-General"; Captain-Commander, Head-Captain in the English dub). His lieutenant is the ever-faithful, Genshiro Ōkikiba. He was once the first Captain of the 7th Division, having obtained the position of Captain within the olden Gotei 13, where there were solely captains, who were merciless protectors of the Soul Society. However; he grew tired of the endless killing, and despite many of his comrades being powerful fighters, he left on a self-imposed exile, not caring about the consequences. Soon then, the Shin'ō Academy would be found after being renamed from "Genji Academy", and Kyōshin still wandered the realms. Soon after the Vandenreich Invasion and the expiration of Shunsui Kyōraku's temporary Captain-Commander role, he was offered the role after being found once again through the genius of Mayuri Kurotsuchi, due to being far more suited. He took upon the role with pride as he began to lead the crumbled Soul Society.
