While his brother Max, was working his way up rapidly, became a Colonel, and was dispatched with his signature AT-AT during the Battle for Hoth. Meanwhile, Daniel was assigned to lead a small task force to guard the Imperial Palace on Coruscant. Some time after the Battle for Hoth, Max Veers was promoted to General for his successful mission on Hoth. The two brothers reunited after the fall of the Emperor to scramble amongst the shattered Empire. Daniel fled to an unknown location, while Max remained within the Imperial Remnant, and was eventually demoted to the rank of Captain, like his brother. Max was sent on a suicide mission by Sedriss QL, and was killed outright in an ambush. Daniel, upon hearing the news of his brother's death, was lead to believe he was assassinated by the Rebellion. Daniel returned to the Empire, seeking revenge for his brother.
