Reverend Llewellyn David Bevan (11 September 1842 – 19 July 1918) was a Congregational minister. Born in Llanelli, Wales, Bevan was educated at University College School and New College and University College London, graduating from the University of London BA in 1862 and LLB in 1865. In 1873 he was elected to the London School Board as one of the representatives of the Marylebone Division. He served a single term, standing down at the next school board election in 1876.   • Reverend Llewellyn David Bevan (11 September 1842 – 19 July 1918) was a Congregational minister. Born in Llanelli, Wales, Bevan was educated at University College School and New College and University College London, graduating from the University of London BA in 1862 and LLB in 1865. Ordained as a minister in 1865, he preached at the King's Weigh House Chapel until 1869 when he became minister of Tottenham Court Chapel. From 1866-76 he was involved in the administration of the Working Men's College, Somers Town, where he also delivered bible classes. Involved in a wide range of social issues, he was a member of the Christian Socialist movement. In 1873 he was elected to the London School Board as one of the representatives of the Marylebone Division. He served a single term, standing down at the next school board election in 1876. In that year he moved to New York to become minister of a Presbyterian church. He returned to London in 1882 as minister of the new Highbury Quadrant Church. In 1886 he moved permanently to Australia, where he was a prominent clergyman in the Melbourne area, later becoming principal of a college in Adelaide. He died there in 1918 aged 75.
