  • Shortly after the Battle of Geonosis began, Dooku, leader of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, realized the battle was lost, and attempted to flee the planet; he was promptly pursued by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, who chased him to a hangar, where they confronted the ex–Jedi. However, Dooku easily defeated his pursuers, wounding Kenobi, and slicing off Skywalker's right arm in a duel, each, with both Jedi. As Dooku was about to finish the two injured Jedi, Dooku sensed his former master, Yoda, approaching. Knowing he would not be able to defeat the ancient Jedi Master, Dooku took his starship, and escaped from Geonosis.
