The Desert Mining Facility was an unforgiving wasteland with Desert Dune Monsters, Mutant Sandflies, and Spitting Dune Crawlers. There were many collectible Desert Crystals out here although you had to defeat dune monsters to get some of them which could be traded for bolts. There was also Raritanium buried out in the hot sand which you could dig up by using a Mining Vehicle which was available for use after you have received the Gravity Boots. Ratchet also flew through a desert canyon using the Glider. He also got the OmniWrench 10000.
