Wes Humphreys was the pitcher / manager of a beer league softball team called the Gators. He was about six-three and sold glass for a living. His brother Joe also played for the Gators. One game the Gators were short a player. Rather than forfeit, Wes asked a spectator by the name of Michael to play. He put him through warm-up exercises and found him to be a poor fielder but a remarkable blooper hitter.
