This earned them promotion to the Soviet Championship League. Minsk participated in the top-tier Soviet competition for three consecutive years between 1950 and 1953. They lost their spot in the league when it was reduced from 17 to nine teams for 1953-54. The club also made four appearances in the Soviet Cup in a period from 1951-1956. Some other clubs from Minsk that participated in the lower-tier Soviet leagues during a similar time period were Torpedo Minsk (1946–1956), Burevestnik Minsk (1956–1958), Krasnoye Znamya Minsk (1958–1964), Trud Minsk (1964–1965) and Vympel Minsk (1965–1966).
