Sir Edgar Bonham-Carter (2 April 1870 – 24 April 1956) was a barrister, colonial administrator and local politician. Educated at Oxford (during which time he played rugby for England) he graduated in 1892 and was called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1895. He was made a Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George in the 1920 New Year's Honours and retired in 1921. He returned to England, and was elected a Progressive Party member of the London County Council representing Bethnal Green North East in 1922.
