Both Bloodtear Baldurf and Steelfleece Baldarich appear to have names in honor of Baldr, the Norse (Viking) god of light, beauty, and innocence. The fact that the Viking Shield drops from both is further evidence of this possible correlation. Baldurf appears to be a variation of Baldur, which is in turn is a variation of Baldr.
