| - Oseobite, also known as Winecloud Gem, is a semi-precious mineral found in trace deposits of the several-thousand asteroids comprising the Oseon system. It is marble-like, with hues varying from burgundy to amber, with some translucency present. When polished, it has exceptional lustre. While not oft-thought of in the galactic community, it had revered status in Sarian culture until interstellar travel was brought to the system in 1189 BBY. Present only in the asteroids of Oseon, it has been deduced that Sarian knowledge and use of Winecloud Gem (translated from the Sarian word venakich) can be attributed to meteor strikes of rogue asteroids from distant Oseon sometime in Mergansar's history. Scientists speculate that perhaps two such strikes resulted in the quantity of Oseobite present in the treasured art of ancestral Sarians, but some effort was undertaken to find out if any of Caspia's own asteroids in the Tudedythiceon Belt are of the same makeup as Oseon's. In any case, interstellar travel and trade allowed Sarians to acquire Winecloud Gem directly from Oseon and progress their artistic use of it.
