The episodes later aired on TV Tokyo. The plot of the episodes follows a group of five girls who have been infused with the DNA of rare animals giving them special powers and allowing them to transform into superheroes called "Mew Mews". Led by Ichigo Momomiya, the girls protect the earth from aliens who wish to "reclaim" it. Nine DVD compilations for the series were released in Japan by Interchannel between August 21, 2002 and July 16, 2003.
