After the death of Emperor Toturi I, many Monkey Clan samurai were dispatched about the Empire to help keep the peace while the Great Clans and Four Winds feuded. Kikoru is one such samurai; he underwent his gempukku in 1156, and was sent to serve as magistrate to the city of Yamasura, a Tamori holding. He is famed for his exuberence and youthful energy, as well as his success in keeping the area peaceful.
