Zaraah Abrahams was born 27th March, 1987 in London. She trained as an actress at the Italia Conti Stage School and gained her big break in 2003 when she appeared in the regular role of Magda in Girls in Love, an adaptation of Jacqueline Wilson's teenage fiction made by Granada Television. This brought her to the attention of the producers of Coronation Street who cast her in the part of Underworld factory worker Joanne Jackson, a part she played between 2005 to 2007. She has also played Michaela White in Waterloo Road from 2008 and was a contestant on the popular ITV1 reality series, Dancing on Ice where her skills were demonstrated in a nationwide tour with Olympic gold medallists Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean.
