Going topside, Conan greets a brooding Belit but their conversation is interrupted by the sighting of a Stygian ship. Belit and Conan's crew easily take and burn the ship, seeking information and secrets on the Stygian capital of Luxur. The Stygians refuse to help, one even committing suicide before he reveals information, but a slave girl, Neftha, freed by the pirates agrees to show them how to get into the royal palace.
