Blindness is a Status Effect that affects the player's vision. Blindness reduces the distance the player can see, potentially making them more vulnerable to mobs. This Status Effect only affects the player's vision. The Sun and Moon will still be visible. When combined with a Potion of Night Vision, the player will see everything in a sheet of fog that will fade away when the condition dissipates.

  • Blindness is the condition of lacking visual perception due to physiological or neurological factors. In the LGBT communities, the minority of blind people who consider themselves as gay, lesbian, transgender or bisexual has been very rarely covered. In addition, a number of controversies have resulted from the misidentification of certain people who are blind as gay or lesbian.

Unseen items only appear as their base item, without even randomized appearance - for example, you will only feel "a wand" or "a potion". Items seen prior to blinding will continue to be identified with their randomized appearance.

  • Blindness is a condition where a person who is blind cannot see. Blindness is the result of a physical of psychological factor. Usually, blindness leads to the enhancment of other senses. Those who have blindness often continue to lead normal lives. As a result of a stone burner being set off, Paul Atreides, during his time as the Padishah Emperor, became blind. However, his power allowed him to see though he was blind. Though there is no cure for blindness, Morgaine cured Elizabeth Rawlinson's blindness after her son, Mordred, had drunk well at Elizabeth's pub.
  • Blindness was a medical condition affecting the sufferer's eyes, with a large number of possible causes. It caused difficulties with vision, ranging from minor impairment to total loss. Related conditions were day blindness and night blindness, in which the sufferer was blinded in overly bright or overly dark conditions; color blindness, which caused a blindness to certain colors; and distorted vision such as with astigmatism. It was one of a number of handicaps that randomly afflicted Grey Orions, due to their genetic mutilation. (FASA RPG - The Orions module: Book of Deep Knowledge)
  • Blindness is a frequent occurrence in diabetic dogs, less frequent in diabetic cats. Hyperglycemia in dogs causes both cataracts and retinopathy, either of which alone can cause blindness in a few days or weeks. Blood glucose levels as low as 250mg/dL (14.0 mmol/L) can cause blindness in dogs. Cats are much more fortunate in this regard -- their visual systems seem to be resilient to high blood sugar, and it's unusual (but not unknown) for them to go blind from it, though retinopathy is a possibility. This source says that cats do not get cataracts as a result of diabetes.
  • Most visual impairments are caused by disease and malnutrition, though blindness could also be caused by various abnormalities, injuries, genetic defects and poisoning. * Genetic defects – Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge was born blind due to a birth defect * Physiology - Some species, like the Aenar, are always born blind * Injury – General Martok's eyesight was impaired when he lost an eye in a battle with Ikat'ika * Magnetic fields – Prolonged exposure of humanoids to the intense magnetic fields on Galorndon Core resulted in synaptic breakdown, which rendered La Forge blind even though his VISOR worked perfectly. • Blindness describes the inability to process visual information. It is always a symptom of a serious disorder, but can have several underlying causes. It can be the result of: * Damage to the eye itself, such as damage to the cornea, clouding of the vitreous humor (fluid in the eyeball) or a detached retina; * Damage to the optic nerve that carries impulses to the brain, such as can be caused by several neurological disorders; * Damage to the brain, which can prevent the signals from being properly processed.
