The Bogwater Region is a burgeoning oasis of civilisation in the generally rowdy and unmapped area near Someplace Awful. It is a literal oasis in the wastes to the south of That Place With all the Sand and north of the Impassable Stones. It generates wealth through the trading of stenches and rare slimes with anywhere that is hardy enough to trek over to get them. Given the harsh landscape that surrounds it Bogwater has become more insular and inbred as a result. But still, that can describe most places on the Oith, so nobody is too bothered. Like the rest of the Oith the place consists of roiling orange-purple-blue clouds, jagged black rocks coated with unspeakable slimes. • The Bogwater Region is a burgeoning oasis of civilisation in the generally rowdy and unmapped area near Someplace Awful. However, Bogwater is mostly famous for the slime wastes that surround it. A seemingly impenetrable vastness of slippery, drooling slime pits, bogs of horrible filth and bobbing, fungal cork trees. The central habitable area of Bogwater is Slurphurdle Mountain, a tower of rock upon which the surrounding city is moored like a flea clinging to a floating dog. The further away from this point you waddle the deeper and slimier the landscape becomes. Surrounding the mountain are dense copses of ancient, huge trees which form the base of many platforms on which the city of Bogwater is built. These narrow to almost impenetrable density before cutting off abruptly, leaving nothing but steaming slime pools and gunk ponds as far as the eye can blearily peer. The only thing that breaks this expanse are the little bobbing bundles of cork trees, rocky outcrops and little rises.
