Mortem is a small town located south of Edelia; this is where Soulweaving originated from and it's the hometown of nearly every weavers on Lore. Tanislav was the father of Roirr - the first soulweaver. However, Roirr was struck with a terrible illness that was slowly killing him. Tanislav, years after years of fruitless attempts to cure his son, heard that a black cloaked stranger was in town. The man asked if the stranger could cure his son, in return, the stranger sold Tanislav the parchment that contained a forbidden ritual of liquifying one's life essence into a medicine.

Tanislav was the father of Roirr - the first soulweaver. However, Roirr was struck with a terrible illness that was slowly killing him. Tanislav, years after years of fruitless attempts to cure his son, heard that a black cloaked stranger was in town. The man asked if the stranger could cure his son, in return, the stranger sold Tanislav the parchment that contained a forbidden ritual of liquifying one's life essence into a medicine. Tanislav sacrificed the entire village - including his own wife - thus saving Roirr by using the liquor and killed himself in remorse. Roirr discovered that the sacrificed villagers became the first Elemental Spirit and learned how to "use" them. Over time, the town was filled with life once again and has become the center for Soulweaving. Roirr himself got married and had four children and they became the founders of the Four Weaving Families. However, Pandora and the Chaosweaver struck out on their own and - eventually - built their own city of Ravenloss. Right now, Mortem is safe from The Rose as a barrier was erected so that only weavers could enter the area.
