His older sister Lynne inherited the title, while Richard became the general of the Duchy's armies. He was one of the heroes of the early days of the Holy Falcon Empire, and was remembered fondly in many popular folktales. Richard was a great warrior. Even the proud Duke Siegfried of Wolf famously stated that the Unicorn Duchy was lucky to have such a "white wolf" as its defender, which led to Richard having a white wolf blazoned on his shield. At one point, Siegfried's champions fought Richard in the jousting arena. In the centuries to come, a tournament was held every 30 years to commemorate Richards "legendary victories". Richard was killed while protecting the town of Kilburn from demons during the Wars of Fire. He was remembered as the "Knight of Kilburn", a title that was passed on to his descendants.
