Tarox are a species of Rahi that roam anywhere. In the Matoran Universe, the species mainly lived on the Northern Continent, where they was hunted for population annoyance. When Teridax took over, the species was ignored, since they were insignificant to Teridax. On Spherus Magna, they wander the planet freely. Some Matoran and Agori even keep them as pets. They are easily fed, being known to eat every 1,000 years since their creation. They also act like they normally do wherever they are, which also makes them good pets.
