| - Steve was the class prankster, and the only person not to have a date at the party at the drive-in movie theaters. When the Ultimates destroyed Space Phantoms army, the unstable molecules sprinkled down on him, as he was the only person who didn't run off screaming when the battle started. He was transformed into Slapstick, and Space Phantom, trying to get the source of his powers back, hunted him down. Slapstick ran to the Ultimates, as he had no other place to go. The Ultimates took him in and together they defeated Space Phantom. Slapstick almost immediately developed a crush on Black Widow, the one Ultimate he annoys most.

| - He only has one known weakness: vibranium. This is why Black Panther was able to defeat him when they fought during Ultimate Civil War. The Fantastic Four, while investigating Slapsticks unstable molecules, have discovered that Vibranium is made of Marballum, a substance that first came to Earth many years before humanity via asteroid. Marballum, for some unknown reason, can effect Unstable Molecules, making them go nuts and stop working how they are intended to.
