| - The Anooba Class Star Destroyer was designed as by Kuat Drive Yards for the Crimson Empire. Considering themselves the true Empire the Crimson Empire was seeking a way to differentiate them from what they considered the usurpers empire and as such sought to create a unique navy. The Anooba-class was named after a predatory pack animal from Tatooine called the Anooba. Supreme Commander Tyfus himself traveled to Kuat in order to place the order for the Crimson Empire’s shadow fleet, a fleet that would be the model for the entirety of the Crimson Empires Navy. After several designs were put forward the Anooba-class Star Destroyer was finally approved fitting the Supreme Commanders requirements for a main line warship. The Anooba-class Star Destroyer was to combine elements of two landmark Kuat designs, the Venator and the Victory I-class Star Destroyers. Tyfus wished for a smaller vessel such as the Victory in order to field a fleet of cheaper, smaller, and quicker ships. He wanted a ship with greater fighter capability but also with the ability to hold its own against larger Imperial vessels. Kuati engineers took to the task looking at their old Venator-class ships. They strengthened and reduced the hull and added a newer more powerful power generator and then proceeded to add weapons. Although having a smaller weapons compliment than a Victory-class Star Destroyer the ship carries six fighter squadrons instead of two and less weapons mean more power is able to be diverted to a modern powerful shield generator and engine. Although the Anooba-class Star Destroyer doesn’t match the older Venator-class in speed it comes close allowing it to catch most other ships, including smaller ships, in a prolonged race.
