Skillix was an apprentice of the School of Mist during the events of The Curse of the Gloamglozer. He had managed to procure a copy of an important examination paper, and was selling it for fifty gold pieces at the Viaduct Steps. Runnet attempted to buy the paper, but, with only thirty-eight gold pieces, be lacked the money. Skillix, in turn, offered that Runnet pay thirty-eight gold pieces now, and pay the remaining twelve later, along with an eight-piece interest, for a total of twenty. Runnet could not afford this method of payment either, and Skillix realized from Runnet's desperation that he would be able to sell the paper elsewhere for a far greater sum.
