Fields was born at a time when the fascist regime in Canada of Derek George was about done with its consolidation of power and complete reform of Canadian society. His parents, a conservative couple from suburban Vancouver, were mostly apolitical, law abiding citizens. Rudolph himself however was fascinated with state politics from an early age. Inspired by the works of Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini and Derek George himself, Fields aspired to a career in service to the State. Out of high school, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces and was attached to the Macdonald Military District.

Out of high school, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces and was attached to the Macdonald Military District. Having seen little combat other than being deployed as part of an advising delegation to the German South West African Movement in 1973, Fields left the Ground Corps in 1984 as a Staff Officer, and enrolled at the Grand State College to obtain his sociology degree.
