Hazz Maticus was a King of Orilios, and the father of Spazz Maticus. He doesn't appear in the games, as he died shortly before the events of Heroes of Might and Magic IV: Winds of War. He was described as a peaceful man, content with his small realm. During his kingship over Orilios, he signed a treaty with Erutan Revol, the King of Arbor'al, that allowed the Orilians to mine for sulfur in the Anduran Mountains as long as they would leave the rest of the rich foothills untouched.

His son Spazz, however, was not happy with the small size of Orilios, and Hazz often had clashes with his son for the latter's lofty goals. While Spazz was still too young to rule, Hazz died from "questionable causes", and his son inherited the kingship. Spazz was almost certainly implicated in Hazz's death. Hazz's name is mentioned only once, in Baron Von Tarkin's narratives from Last Man Standing, when the Necromancer contemplates the lack of resemblance between Spazz and his father.
