João Gustavo Stenha Magripe (December 11, 1920 - March 2, 1974) was the last democratically-elected Prime Minister of Brazil under the 1942 Constitution prior to the Savala coup, during which he was held under house arrest and later assassinated under dubious circumstances. Magripe, a member of the Worker's Party, was Prime Minister from 1972 until the coup in February 1974.
