- Rodin Hlian Verpalion was a Human male who represented his homeworld of Axum in the Galactic Senate, and later the Imperial Senate. A strong supporter of Palpatine in his days as the Supreme Chancellor, he was later repaid upon the formation of the Galactic Empire by being given the rank of Imperial Advisor. During the Galactic Civil War, he acted as an aide to the Grand Vizier, Sate Pestage, and also held the position of Imperial Adjunct, essentially a government representative in the Imperial Military. In 3 ABY, he was appointed to the Imperial Ruling Council. After the destruction of the second Death Star, causing the deaths of the Emperor and Darth Vader, Verpalion began aiding Grand Vizier Sate Pestage in running the Empire completely, as he had become the interim Emperor. However, Verpalion himself began to have ambitions for seizing the throne. They never formulated, and Verpalion eventually served on the Moff Council of the Imperial Remnant. On the outside, Verpalion was a nice and generous individual, who appeared to enjoy helping others and consistently donated credits to charities. However, on the inside, he was ambitious and loyal to the Empire, willing to kill and torture people who got in his way. His darker personality developed as he rose through politics and witnessed various conflicts that the Republic became entangled in, thinking that it was necessary to defend his ideals and beliefs and the only way to rise to positions of power.
