The deep booming sound echoed silently through his thought, then again, louder this time, once more and he could actually feel it. Taylor slowly opened his, it was pitch black quiet, aside from the sound of his fan spinning. The noise boomed again from his apartment door, and he sat himself up in the comfort of his own bed, clicking the light on and dragging himself out of the bed. “Did we wake from your beauty sleep?” “Oh” Taylor responded emotionlessly, “Wyatt, just know I’m too tired to respect you with an insult right now. What do you and the wonder squad want?”

  • The deep booming sound echoed silently through his thought, then again, louder this time, once more and he could actually feel it. Taylor slowly opened his, it was pitch black quiet, aside from the sound of his fan spinning. The noise boomed again from his apartment door, and he sat himself up in the comfort of his own bed, clicking the light on and dragging himself out of the bed. The knocking continued, “Hold on damn, I’m on my way!” He wasn’t awake enough to check the peep hole and as he slung the door open he was greeted by some familiar faces. Wyatt and several other Talons stood in front of him concealed in dark heavy coats. Wyatt had a big grin across his face. “Did we wake from your beauty sleep?” “Oh” Taylor responded emotionlessly, “Wyatt, just know I’m too tired to respect you with an insult right now. What do you and the wonder squad want?” Wyatt stepped inside past Taylor, the others following him in. “We need to talk Taylor.” He took a peak around Taylor’s room, clothes and blankets were tossed across the apartment, along with empty cups and drinks. "Shit hole you got here Taylor, I didn't expect any less." Taylor sighed, he was tired, a little too tired and not in the mood to deal with Wyatt and his goon squad. "Let's get to the point, why are you here Wyatt?" "We need you to come with us, straight from Aria." He answered, sternly, and not in the Napoleonic standard way of Wyatt. The coats, they concealed weapons, Taylor could tell now, this was strange. First the incident at the bar, then what happened yesterday, something was amiss and Taylor knew it. “What’s going on Wyatt, be upfront with me here mate?” "Don't make it harder than it has to be." Wyatt placed his hand on his holstered pistol. He looked around the room, the men had all drawn their weapons and were ready for a fight. “Fine.” Taylor said lifting his hands up to the Talons. Wyatt nodded towards the Salarian holding the cuffs. He approached Taylor and grabbed his hand drawing it towards the cuffs but a swift twist and reversal, Taylor ripped the Salarian backward, and tossed him into the Talon to his right. Wyatt charged in but Taylor clinched and hip tossed him into the wall. The Drell Talon, threw a flurry of Jabs at the human, who blocked the shots, and threw out a leg, dropping the Drell onto one knee. Taylor then grabbed the back of the Talon's head, and delivered a knee into his chin knocking him unconscious. The other Talon managed to shake the delirious Salarian off of himself and get back to his feet took advantage of the moment, leaping onto Taylor's back. But he slammed him into the wall, jostling him off his back. Taylor then threw his right elbow back, hitting the Talon on the chin and knocking him out. Taylor turned to face the last man standing, Wyatt who had finally gotten up from the original assault. "Just walk away from this Wyatt I’m serious, go get help while you can…” The man, though beaten wiped the blood from his mouth, reached back with his right hand and activated a stun baton. He let out a roar and swung it at Taylor, who dodged the attack and side stepped, throwing a well-timed spinning back fest, crashing so hard into Wyatt’s jaw knocking him out cold. The Talons were scattered around the room, unconscious or too delirious to pose a threat. He took the time to put the few still conscious under. After locking the mercenaries in his bathroom Taylor began digging through his apartment, grabbing some clothes and supplies, last but not least turning his attention the old broken stove in the kitchen. In the back was a bag filled with credit chips. He ripped it out and tossed it into his backpack and headed for the door. As he stepped out Taylor pulled the hood over his head and peeked around, the halls were empty, no one in sight. The thoughts were racing through his head as to what was going on, why the Talons were after him now, but he knew there was one friend that could help him at least. Sykes approached his own apartment, swinging his keys in his hand and humming a song, his lisp slightly affecting the sound. And as he turned he heard his friend behind him. “Sykes.” He turned to see Taylor standing there, hood pulled up bag in hand with a dreadful look on his face. “I need a place to stay.” “Uh sure dude of course.” The Turian was somewhat confused, “Why didn’t you just call bud?” Taylor walked inside, tossing his backpack down and pulling out a chair. “The Talons come to you?” "Can I trust you?!" Taylor asked with a panicked voice. "What do you mean?" Sykes shouted. Taylor gulped down a sip from his water bottle and took a breath, staring at the apartment floor. “Wyatt and his goons showed up at my place, they tried to take me into custody, Aria’s orders. I kicked their asses but, there’s bound to be more.” Sykes was confused, legitimately, “But why? What did they want?” "I don’t know, but I have to get out of here.” “We need to go see Jaxon then, he can help.” Taylor looked up at him, his eyes focused, “No, no no no. Jaxon is the last person I want to see, last time I saw him I told him what happened in the slums yesterday, he has to know about this. That’s the only way this information would have gotten to Aria.” Sykes looked down at the floor, then back to Taylor. He let out a sigh. "Oh shit, they’ll come here and look for you. Dude we gotta get you somewhere safe." That was one of the best ideas Sykes had ever had and it had taken Taylor aback for a moment, “Yeah, yeah right, um Kyt’s place! He won’t tell anyone.” “Good idea! Let me just take a shower!” Taylor held Sykes back, “No you idiot we’ll get caught, c’mon, you’ll smell like shit regardless!” The Two left in a hurry, hoods up to avoid attention and down and out of the apartments, weaving their way through the streets of Omega trying to avoid speculation as to who they are, in case the talons were searching. Eventually they reached the clinic, and keeping their guard up as they entered the worn down structure, only to be met by the friendly faces of Kyt and his staff. “Taylor! Sykes! My favorite boys, how can I help you today?” Taylor peaked around the room and just to be secure "Let's talk in private" as he headed down towards a surgery room. "Oh" the doctor coughed. He followed into the room behind the two, eager as to what need to be so private, "So what's the emergency?" "I need you to let me stay here, for a little bit doctor, it's kind of hard to explain just trust me" Taylor asked as he dropped his bag down onto one of the unused surgery tables. “And you can’t let anyone know Doc.” Kyt looked him in the eyes and could see the seriousness in his expression, “Okay, you know that’s fine.” And it really was for Kyt, anything to help people he’d do it. “You can stay in her, obviously we don’t use it anymore. "Thanks doc." Taylor said with a smile. Kyt nodded and left the room. "Keep the door locked!" He shouted as he looked back at Sykes, "Thank's for your help bud." Sykes smiled, "You're my best friend man. I better get back before any one gets suspicious." He threw up a peace sign as he trotted towards the door. "You be careful" Taylor yelled as Sykes left. He looked around the dimly lit room, twitting his thumbs and rotating his jaw as he attempted to deal with the stress. He wasn’t very proud of how this was affecting him, but regardless it was. Something big was going to happen soon, “I can’t just hide in here forever.” He thought to himself.
