A. Allen Moore (July 18, 1909 – July 28, 1991) Born Audrey Allen Moore, Al Moore was a wide receiver defensive end in the National Football League who played for the Green Bay Packers. Moore came out of Texas A&M and played five games for the Packers in 1939. At Texas A&M, Moore played the sousaphone tuba, earning him the nickname "Sousie." After playing with the Packers to win the 1939 NFL championships, Moore joined the U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Pennsylvania aircraft carrier in World War II Pacific theater. After the war, he settled in the Los Angeles, California area where he married Marie Darrieulat, and raised three daughters, Lynne, Suzanne and Kathleen.
