The RG450 was a more affordable alternative to the original RG550. It was sold only in Japan, but a similar model was sold as the RG350 in Europe. The RG450 features the tilt neck joint with a metal plate. It has a basswood body bolted to a one-piece maple neck with a 22-fret maple fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include Ibanez RG4 pickups in an HSH configuration, a TRS-101 double locking tremolo bridge and a locking nut. The RG460 is a similar model with a single coil pickup in place of the RG450's neck humbucker, a rosewood fretboard and no pickguard.
