The Khormai Legion was one of the Separatist volunteer legions that fought during the Clone Wars. However, unlike the other legions, which had good combat performance, the Khormai Legion was not trained nor experienced, and thus was very poor. When Warlord Unger Gout took over Khorm and enslaved his species for the Confederacy, he created a Khormai Legion to aid him in policing the population and to aid the Separatist war effort. However, they were not volunteers, but conscripts, and thus morale was very low. The CIS commanders who commanded the unit noted that it was undisciplined and poorly trained, and reported it was "next to useless".

The Legion fought on Khorm, as well as several other planets for the CIS, mainly snow planets, as their homeworld was an ice planet. Their expertise in ice planets did not aid their combat skills, though. It numbered originally 4,800 members, split into two battalions. By the end of the war, a mere 500 remained (most of the losses were from surrenders) and were returned to Khorm, which was at that point under Galactic Republic control.
