In 1939 the World War II begun and her husband promised to find a way to leave Germany secretly for her protection. Inge had the feeling that some things can't change, but followed her husband's plan. One night, as they were leaving on a wagon, with their little son John hidden in a box for food goods, they were stopped by two soldiers shortly before the borders. When the soldiers were about to open the box, Inge sacrificed herself by running away, giving time for osef to shoot one of the soldiers. The other soldier caught up with her and shot her down. Josef avenged her and promised to do best of their lives, as they owed it to her sacrifice.
