- The surface of Kuat was heavily terraformed to consist of forests, grasslands, and cultivated gardens, while around the planet orbited a colossal series of space stations housing their industrial facilities, including the mind-bogglingly huge Kuat Drive Yards, orbital shipyards that pumped out whatever gigantic starships were considered to be fashionable in the biggest galaxy-spanning, autocratic government that happened to hold sway at the moment.
- By the Clone Wars, Kuat was long-poisoned by its massive industrialization and drained of resources. But the Duros who ruled Kuat had little care for they were rich and wanted for nothing. When the Empire established rule over the Galaxy, the Duros were a favored race among non-humans. For they provided the Star Destroyers. But with the fall of the Emperor, many Duros involved with Kuat Drive Yards took their wealth and fled, thinking the Rebellion would visit vengence upon them. Those that did not flee fought each other for control over the Drive Yards. But it was not to be a Duros that took control of Kuat next, but a human.
