Agelmar Jagad, Lord of Fal Dara immediately conducts a search for the bowman, but is, thus far, unsuccessful. The Amyrlin Seat insists on leaving for Tar Valon immediately, despite concerns from Lord Agelmar. Amid much fanfare, The Amyrlin Seat, Egwene al'Vere, Nynaeve al'Meara, and the Aes Sedai, accompanied by Shienarian soldiers, leave Fal Dara, heading west. During the march, Egwene and Nynaeve are visited in their tents by several Aes Sedai, who give them lessons in channeling the One Power. Nynaeve participates very reluctantly, and not very well because she cannot consciously channel except when angry. Alanna Mosvani and Liandrin both ask questions about Rand al'Thor, Matrim Cauthon, and Perrin Aybara during the lessons, Liandrin almost to the point of interrogation. After a while, Egwene begins to have dreams about Rand being in danger, and feels that there might be more to them than just regular nightmares. * a man with a mask over his face, and fire in place of his eyes who was surprised to see her.
