  • The Kingdom of England (simply known as England, or the KE) is a sovereign state located off the north-western coast of continental Europe. The country includes the southern half of the isle of Britain, the northern half of the isle of Ireland, the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man and the Isle of Sheppy. The KE shares land borders with two sovereign states —the Commonwealth of Scotland, and the Republic of Ireland. England also has oceanic borders, to the east by the North Sea, to the south by the English Channel and to the west the Irish Sea. The KE, was formed in 2007 by the breakup of the United Kingdom. The breakup resulted in four new states —the Kingdom of England, the Commonwealth of Scotland, the Welsh State and the Ulster State. In addition, Cornwall was given special status within the Kingdom of England. On 9 December 2012, the monarch of England, Elisabeth II, and the heir-apparent, Charles IV, were assassinated by a member of the international terrorist group the provisional IRA, reported in the media to be known as 'Merciless Seamus'. The weapon used, reportedly a former-soviet Army Kalashnikov, was allegedly purchased by the IRA from Al-Qaeda. William V, as 3rd in-line-to-the-Throne, was appointed King. The attack was allegedly in response to Elisabeth II's plans to intervene in government by blocking the Wales and Cornwall Independence act 2012. After the events of 12/09, PM David Cameron announced that due to the ever-present highlighted dangers of his job, he would be resigning, triggering a By-election. Deputy PM Nick Clegg would be in temporary-charge until the result of the 2012 By-election, which took place on 18 December 2012. The result of the 18/12/12 By-Election was a resounding 97% Majority for Labour candidate Ed Miliband, ahead of Conservative candidate Boris Johnson (1.5%), Liberal Democrat candidate Michael Howard (1%) and Green Party candidate Caroline Lucas (0.5%).
