Jim "Long Gone" Thomas was a running back who played nine seasons in the Canadian Football League for the Edmonton Eskimos. In his career, Thomas ran for 6161 yards and was a two time CFL All-Star. He signed to the Los Angeles Rams in 1970 for a five-game trial, but returned to Edmonton.
