After some years of self-studying he decided to attend to classes at the famous and renowned Lizard Institute Of Music, situated in Florence, where one of the greatest italian guitarists and musicians Giacomo Castellano (Vasco Rossi, Raf, Irene Grandi) introduced him into new techniques and styles like Jazz, Fusion and New Age. Very soon he began composing his own music and put together five excellent demotapes very well accepted by the specialized critic and the public: he is called "the new melodic italian genius " and after the appreciation of many Italian magazines such as Flash, Psycho, Metal Shock, Viceversa and 360° he reaches the Top Demo in the famous european one Metal Hammer where the attention for a guitar hero had been absent for years.

| - Wow, finally a player with good emotion in his playing! It seems not many people are doing this anymore but Matt sounds fresh and I like it a lot

- Matt plays great melodies that are rare in todays guitarmusic. Excellent melodies and Desert Rose-song contains one of the best tones I´ve ever heard on. It´s great to hear a guitarist that can right good songs. To many guitarists out there can shred fast, but when it comes to writing music, they stink! Matt combines technique and melody in a superb way. Loved it!

- Excellent playing! In Extravaganza the tunes were different from song to song, with varied feels and influences. I think that is important on an instrumental cd!

Finally Matt managed to realize his first self produced demo cd "Extravaganza" with the help of Emiliano Mammini, Francesco Rossi, Alex Paolillo and Fabio Montorzi (ex Eldtritch), in Italy distributed by Paranoid Records. In "Extravaganza" music explores the new sound of melody and techniques of tomorrow, pouring itself into very direct songs and strong emotions. In 2002, after these good reviews on specialized magazines, Matt is invitated to record and arrange all guitar parts on debut cd of one of greatest italian rock bass player Andrea Castelli (ex Shabby Trick, Cappanera and Mantra), called "Planet Time" distribuited by 99th Floor. His famous GuitarChef 'zine reborn on cd called "GuitarChef - Volume 1" with a compilation features ex Dokken guitarist Alex De Rosso, fusion master William Stravato, Steve Saluto and Matt himself. This is the first italian guitar compilation released for Level's Productions. The 2004 is a great year for release his acclaimed solo debut "Heat Of Emotion" printed for Level's Productions. His new cd features duets with great guest stars like Andy Timmons, Giacomo Castellano, Alex De Rosso and many others and is top seller on the famous Guitar 9 Records. “Heat Of Emotion” is one of the most selled guitar album in U.S.A. in the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 through Guitar 9 Records. After the critically acclaimed album "Heat of Emotion", Matt publish another masterpiece "All The Little Things" for GC Records featuring members from The Blacklies Salva La Bella on drums and Francesco Rossi on bass. Also featuring great musicians like Mike Orlando (Adrenaline Mob’s Mike Portnoy ex Dream Theater), Fabrizio Leo (Eros Ramazzotti), Alex Lucatti (Vision Divine) Gianni Rojatti, Ty Oliver (Requiem For The Dead), Alberto De Bortoli, Carl Roa (The Magic Elf), Riccardo Vernaccini and many more. The album received positive reviews and emphasizing the maturity of Matt in composition and in guitar playing, also is reviewed (including interview) on the famous british magazine Fireworks Magazine. Now Matt is finishing the recording of his new vocal-album with the help of Samuele Borsò. The new album will come out in late 2012 and early 2013.
