The age began with the ascension of Sar-Elam, the Seventh Dragon, after he made contact with Asha in the spirit world. This event marked the start of a calendar era, and dates in Ashan after this point are given in "Year of the Seventh Dragon", or "YSD". Sar-Elam returned to Ashan and brought an end to the Elder Wars, imposing the peace treaty known as the Twilight Covenant. Most of the known events in Ashan's history took place in the Historical Age, including most of the wars, and the formation of all nations other than the Shantiri Empire.
