Fans of Fumito Ueda’s PS2 classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus were hit with a surprise announcement at E3 2015: after years of speculation and discouraging news, The Last Guardian, long-awaited and feared defunct since its original announcement way back in 2007, would be gracing PS4s in 2016. In the game -- another illustration of Team Ico’s signature commitment to what they’ve coined "design by subtraction" -- players assume the role of a small boy, who, with the help of a baby griffon named Trico, solves platforming puzzles and evades guards in a crumbling fortress.
