  • Savoir Adore is an independent rock band from New York City founded in 2007. Its current members are Deidre Muro, Paul Hammer, Tim McCoy, Gary Atturio and Alex Foote. According to their Facebook page, their genre is "Poppp". On July 14, 2009, they released their first release, The Adventures of Mr. Pumpernickel and the Girl With Animals in Her Throat. In 2009, they issued their second full-length album, In The Wooded Forest, which spawned two singles: "We Talk Like Machines" and "Bodies" . The band received wide exposure in February 2012 when their cover of "Pop Goes the World" by Men Without Hats appeared in a commercial for Tide Pods. Their most recent release as of June 13, 2012, is the "Dreamers EP". Their style can be described as a unique combination of pop, alternative, new wave, and art music. "The Scientific Findings of Dr. Rouseau", In The Wooded Forest 's opening track, opens with a slow but steady drum line, layered with synthesizer, and slow vocals, but then by the bridge increases tempo greatly. "Bodies" uses heavy fuzz box on its guitars and bass and clattering drums. "Dreamers" is pure unabashed pop music, and quite dancable. Their cover of "Pop Goes the World", on the other hand, takes a 4-minute new wave classic, and transforms it into a 2-minute post-punk rave.
