Also starring on this program were fellow Star Trek alumni Jim Metzler, Cyril O'Reilly, Lawrence Pressman, Diane Salinger, and Constance Towers. He then made his film debut in the 1988 remake of the classic science fiction thriller The Blob before starring in the Killer Crocodile films in 1989 and 1990. After appearing in two earthquake-related TV movies (After the Shock with Brian Thompson and The Great Los Angeles Earthquake with Ed Begley, Jr., Felecia M. Bell, Richard Herd, and Brock Peters) and the film Predator 2 in 1990 and co-starring with his father and Stephen McHattie in the 1994 TV movie Jonathan Stone: Threat of Innocence, Crenna took some time off from acting. He returned in 1999, taking up recurring roles on Chicago Hope (working with Robert Curtis-Brown, Kerrie Keane, and Matt McCoy) and Roswell (starring William Sadler). One episode of Roswell in which he appeared, entitled "River Dog", was directed by Jonathan Frakes. Crenna went on to appear in the films Critical Mass (2000, co-starring Charles Emmett, Richard McGonagle, and Andrew Prine), The Glass House (2001, with Erick Avari, John Billingsley, and D. Elliot Woods), and Landspeed (2002, with Ray Wise). He also had a role in the 2000 Murder, She Wrote TV movie A Story to Die For, in which he acted alongside his father for the final time (he died in 2003). That movie also featured Steven Culp, Daniel Dae Kim, J. Patrick McCormack, and Duncan Regehr in the cast. In addition, Crenna has made guest appearances on The Guardian (starring Raphael Sbarge) and NCIS (in an episode with Alan Dale, Gregory Itzin, and Lawrence Pressman). As of December 2006, his role on Enterprise is his most recent television appearance.
