The 1964 Daytona 500 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) event held at Daytona International Speedway on February 23, 1964. Richard Petty dominated the event en route to his first Daytona 500 victory, leading 184 of the 200 laps and holding off Jimmy Pardue by one lap and nine seconds.
