George Portugal was a Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles, California. In 2002 he was a young and inexperienced prosecutor who was ready to file murder charges against Samuel Delacroix for the murder of Arthur Delacroix. Portugal was convinced that this was an air-tight case, but he was pursuaded by Harry Bosch to drop the charges when it became apparent that Delacroix was merely covering for someone else.
