The only exception to this was in the 2000 Battle of the Best tournament, where Adam Weiss defeated Wyndex to win the Intercontinental Championship. The World Champion at the time, The Saint, was defeated in the semi-finals that year.

This last Battle of the Best was won by current World Champ, Candles, who destroyed the Cup after the final. It is unknown if there will be another Dare Cup, but it is likely.
